Hiding in plain sight
The Secret Service by SieMatic, devised as an add-on to the company’s S2 kitchen system, is a 3.5-centimeter-thick drawer hidden inside the recessed channel of the kitchen cabinetry. The handle-free drawer is designed for storage of very thin items, including utensils, knives, phones, tablets or valuables.
Optional magnetized dividers are available to separate items, as well as a knife holder if the drawer is to be used as a knife block.
Limestone-inspired porcelain
The Crossville Beljn porcelain tile collection by AHF Products features a design based on the look of Belgium limestone, including white veining, coal lines and visible fossils. Sizes range from 12 by 24 inches to 24 by 48 inches, plus square and brick mosaics for backsplashes and showers.
Beljn is available in five shades, ranging from light to dark, and a choice of three finishes: unpolished, a bush-hammered-style exterior finish and the company’s FeatherSoft finish. The product line is also carbon-neutral, given a combination of manufacturing improvements and carbon offset credits.
Smart home combo
The Alloy SmartHome Hub+ by SmartRent combines a smart thermostat with an integrated smart hub device, designed specifically for use in rental housing. The device operates on the Z-Wave protocol, and provides a single interface with which to connect and control the home’s smart devices.
Functions include turning multiple lights on and off, remotely locking or unlocking doors and making maintenance requests.
Warm style
The Bubble by Focus is a rounded, wood-burning firepit fixture designed for use in exterior settings, including rooftop decks. Its matte black anti-corrosion finish, covering the steel and zinc structure, is made to stand up to outdoor conditions.
Each Bubble measures 27 ½ inches in diameter, and includes caster wheels on the bottom so that it may be moved along a flat surface, according to the product website. The product has been nominated in the Best of IBS 2024 awards for Best Outdoor Product at the International Builders’ Show.
Classic steel
Central States Board and Batten is a metal siding system that emulates the look of board and batten structures, lending itself to farmhouse or industrial chic exterior aesthetics, according to a press release.
The siding, currently only sold in the Northeast, is made of 26-gauge steel and available in fifteen painted and three woodgrain finishes. It does not require painting or repainting, and is 100% recyclable at the end of its lifespan. It is available in custom lengths up to 30 feet long and widths of up to 25 ¼ inches.
Multipoint security
The Masonite Performance Door System with M-Protect Multi-Point Security Lock is an exterior door set offering a multipoint security lock that functions like a deadbolt. The lock has four times the impact resistance of standard deadbolts, as confirmed by third-party testing, according to Masonite.
The Masonite M-Protect is a premium option for all of Masonite’s exterior fiberglass door designs and compatible with a variety of handlesets, including electronic deadbolts. It is currently available through select distributors, and will come to retail markets this spring.
Slow burn
A Best of KBIS finalist, the 36-inch Arianna Innovation Series Induction Range by Empava is the manufacturer’s first electric range. It has four burners flanking a central 4,000-watt heating zone, which may be synced together to form a continuous griddle surface when needed — a first in the industry, according to the manufacturer.
The range knobs feature champagne end caps, diamond etching and teal LED lighting.
