Phoenix developer Habitat Metro has completed the next building in its Eco series, designed with sustainability as a main priority.
Eco Phoenix, also known as Eco PHX, is an urban infill Opportunity Zone project located in Phoenix’s Roosevelt Row Arts District, according to a news release shared with Multifamily Dive by its architect, Phoenix-based CCBG Architects.
The five-story, 125,000-square-foot building, which began leasing in January, includes 70 units ranging from studios to two-bedroom apartments. Its green and sustainable features include:
- A solar array on the rooftop, which offsets residents’ energy bills by up to 50%, according to the release.
- Greywater recycling.
- Electric vehicle charging stations.
- A car-share program for residents.
- Energy-efficient light fixtures.
- Cellulose insulation, low-E windows and double-insulated walls.
Unit finishes include quartz countertops, wood-style flooring and stainless steel appliances. Residents also have access to a rooftop pool and spa, a fitness center and lawn games.

The property includes over 3,300 square feet of retail space and is located within walking distance of Roosevelt’s Metro light rail station, according to the release. The surrounding Roosevelt Row Arts District is known for its art galleries, street art, restaurants and community events, according to the district’s website.
“Eco Phoenix supports the city’s ongoing commitment to sustainable growth while providing residents with access to eco-conscious living in the Downtown urban core, and of one of the city’s most dynamic neighborhoods,” said Paul Ladensack, partner at CCBG Architects, in the release.
The first Eco property, the 102-unit Eco Mesa, was completed in Mesa, Arizona, in September 2023. A third, 110-unit building, Eco Mesa East, is expected to be completed by January 2027, according to the developer’s website.
