A deep curve
The Ansel solid surface undermount sink by Durasein features a deep, curved bowl designed to evoke beauty, grandeur and a sense of depth, according to a press release shared with Multifamily Dive. The sink is made of 100% acrylic, which is easy to clean, non-porous and stain-, mold- and mildew-resistant. It is suitable for both residential and commercial applications, and features integral overflow to prevent flooding.
The basin is available in two colors: Arctic White and Natural White.
Fire protection
The DGT and DGHT fire wall hangers by Simpson Strong-Tie are made for use as floor-to-wall connections in wood-frame multifamily construction — the fastest-growing new residential construction segment of the last several years, according to the manufacturer. Both models are one-piece units that require no welding or additional connectors, and may be installed before drywall application with either hand-driven nails or a power nailer.
The hangers carry a two-hour fire rating, meeting modern Type III building construction code requirements for floor joist hangers that do not negatively impact the fire-resistive nature of the wall. Both products have been tested to ASTM standards and are code-listed in the International Residential Code and International Building Code. Standard, heavy-gauge, skewed and concealed options are all available.
Designer shades
The Soltis Touch shade fabric by Serge Ferrari Group, designed for fabrication into custom window shades, features a woven design made from a blend of extruded polyester yarn and additional raw fibers. The structure of the polyester base minimizes the need for elongation or re-tensioning over time, according to the manufacturer.
The Soltis Touch line is GreenGuard Gold certified for indoor air quality and tested against all North American standards for fire resistance. It is available in 28 colors and a range of openness factors — 1%, 3% and 5% — that provide different degrees of acoustical absorption, glare control, natural light filter and transparency. The shade is phthalate-free and recyclable at the end of its life, the company says.
Smart property access
Zentra, a new brand of multifamily access services by Allegion Americas, combines a given property’s security hardware (including Allegion’s Schlage brand), software and related services into a single centralized platform for more efficient operation and control.
Services available on the Zentra platform include mobile access authentication, real-time perimeter access management, upgrades (such as a mechanical to smart lock access retrofit), a dedicated customer service line and API integration with other platforms.
