Scan-based access

The QR Code Intercom by ButterflyMX allows visitors, staff and residents to access a given multifamily property by scanning a laser-etched QR code on a metal plaque with a smartphone. The system is intended to provide digital property access without the cost, complexity or installation requirements of traditional access hardware, according to the manufacturer.
The new system integrates with ButterflyMX’s existing cloud-based access control. On scanning the code, users are taken to a web-based intercom interface with audio, video and a searchable directory. The panel is available in anodized aluminum, stainless steel or brass, and is tamper-evident and weather resistant, according to the firm.
Emerald shine

Glen-Gery Corp.’s Venetian Glass Brick is now available in Emerald Green, introduced to meet current architectural and design trends, according to a news release shared with Multifamily Dive.
The semi-translucent shade amplifies light that passes through, creating a luminescent effect, according to the manufacturer. The bricks are designed for use in statement walls, as accent pieces or in full-scale architectural installations, and come in a choice of three finishes: natural, polished and frosted.
Versatile security

The Brentford by Kwikset is a transitional-style handleset with clean lines and tapering curves, designed to complement both classic and modern interiors.
The handle is available in either keyed or dummy configurations, made for use with single- or double-front doors. It integrates with a number of Kwikset’s existing interior knobs and levers, and is available in a matte black or satin nickel finish. Both feature Kwikset’s Microban antimicrobial protection layer. The key system is bump- and pick-resistant, according to the manufacturer, and may be rekeyed by homeowners within seconds when needed.
Lights, camera, coworking

The LS2 AV by Coronet LED is a horizontal lighting fixture made for use in spaces that require specific lighting for cameras and video meetings, according to a news release shared with Multifamily Dive. These can include multifamily coworking spaces or work areas in residential units.
The fixture, available in hanging or recessed configurations, is designed to provide optimal lighting for camera use without cluttering the ceiling plane. The system includes four modules — directional spot, linear direct, linear indirect and downlight — that can be mixed and matched across the ceiling bar to suit the needs of the space.
The system is compatible with many third-party lighting control programs, and specifiers can customize the housing finishes, optics, outputs and color temperatures to suit.
Pet finder

Pet policy compliance software provider Petscreening has added a new tool to its service, PetComply.ai, which uses artificial intelligence and analytics to help property managers find undisclosed pets in a given building.
The tool identifies compliance red flags and automatically engages residents with educational tools and prompts to comply. It also provides property managers with visibility on a property’s compliance status, as well as strategies to achieve 100% compliance. The tool is free for Petscreening users.
