Weather-resistant paint
Benjamin Moore’s newest exterior coating, Element Guard, is formulated to resist damage from severe weather and high-moisture environments, including wind-driven rain and humidity, according to a press release. The paint can resist rainfall as soon as 60 minutes after application, and may be applied in temperatures as low as 35 degrees Fahrenheit.
The paint is designed for use on vinyl and cedar siding, wood, brick, and other exterior substrates. It resists mildew growth, cracking and peeling, and may be tinted in up to 3,500 colors.
No mortar necessary
The Mortarless Stone Pillar Kits by Silvermine Stone include all of the materials necessary to build a stone pillar or post surround on a project, according to a release shared with Multifamily Dive. Each kit has a pre-cut polymer frame, fastening hardware, stones and mounting fastener screws; the resulting pillar measures 18 by 18 inches square, available in either 36 or 48-inch heights.
For design cohesion, the stone pillar patterns are a perfect match for Silvermine’s Belterra stone siding collection. The stones themselves are available in a choice of five colors: Evening Gray, Dover Cliff, Marin Fog, Dakota Sunset and Monument Valley. Cap styles include a 22-inch flat cap for topping off pillars or a 22-inch split cap made for wrapping around a post.
Thermally broken doorways
The Transcend Series thermally broken commercial entrances by Dawson Metal Co. are designed to contribute to a building’s overall energy efficiency by protecting against energy loss and temperature disruptions.
The door incorporates a reinforced polyamide strip between the inside and outside aluminum frame, reducing overall heat conduction. The fully-glazed frame is fitted with 1-inch insulated low-E glass, and offers a U-value far above current industry requirements. The thermally-broken structure also protects against frost buildup and moisture deterioration over time.
Quick shower renovation kits
The Shower & Tub Surrounds Pro Kits by Six3Tile are made to save installation time and labor costs in multifamily and apartment renovations, according to a release shared with Multifamily Dive. Each kit includes large format, pre-cut panels made from a PVC-based ceramic tile alternative, meant to install more quickly and easily than traditional laid tile.
The panels cover existing shower or tub surrounds, including existing ceramic tile. The tongue-and-groove connections create a watertight seal and create a channel for grout finishing. The kits require no special tools or skills to install, and do not require any curing time before grout can be applied. Backsplash kits are also offered.
