The National Multifamily Housing Council tracks the top-performing companies in the industry each year. From syndicators and owners to builders and managers, the NMHC rankings are much anticipated every year.
For 2022, there were some notable shakeups on the lists. Starwood Capital Group passed Memphis-based REIT MAA to claim the top spot on the owners list, after gaining more than 25,000 units last year. Charleston, South Carolina-based owner, manager, developer and builder Greystar Real Estate Partners, previously on top of the managers and developers list, became the No. 1 builder, as well.
